Have you seen a forty year old wool Dhurrie area rug recently? I have. One came in today.
The client bought it in London at a store called The Habitat in 1970. It is a very treasured area rug. One side is faded and that is the side they use when it is put out on the deck. The darker side is up when they uses it indoors.
This is a perfect example of sun fading. The faded effect adds to the character of the rug.
Dhurrie area rugs are usually two sided which is good if one side gets too dirty you can just flip it.
Dhurrie rugs are hard to find right now in Victoria,BC. If you sell Dhurrie/flat weave area rugs please let me know. I can send buyers you way.
