This label was put on by the manufacturer describing the rug.
Unfortunately this label is not completely correct.
The correct things about the label is that this rug was made in India and the size on the bottom label.
The incorrect things are that it says it is hand made, the size on the top label and that it is from Gabbeh.
I don’t know of a city named Gabbeh and it is not a Gabbeh area rug either.
The size on the upper label would make this rug 6.5×9.2 feet, which it is not.
Why would this label be put on the rug if it doesn’t accurately describe the rug?
Here are some reasons why:
- These are the labels the manufacturer have on hand
- A new person was working that day and sewed the wrong labels on the rug
- The manufacturer was leaning on the shady side of things
There is no way of knowing the real reason why. All I can tell you is that this label is incorrect in the description of the type of rug and that is why I don’t read the labels.
